My Wonderful Swap with Sheila!!

I love swapping!!  I need to go to swappers anonymous hehe Anyone have a support group I can join.  But seriously, I am having so much fun with the swaps hosted by the lovely Amy from Bumble Bee lane :)

The most recent swap was the Prairie Harvest, I was paired up with the sweetheart Sheila from Seasons of Thy Heart....super talented Sheila that is.  She creates lovely floral arrangements which I am totally in awe of by the way.

Here are my wonderful goodies from Sheila!!  I was seriously screaming out loud with every package I unwrapped.

Love this can from Crow Farms....

Thanks again Sheila for the fabulous gifts!!!  You are a wonderful swap partner and such a sweetheart, I loved getting to know you!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Fall Chex Mix...you must try this!!

So around here we L O V E this stuff, I mean really love it..I could sit and eat this whole bowl at once, I would have a major tummy ache but hey it is that good.
So here is how you make it:

9 cups Rice Chex cereal
1 cup white vanilla baking chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup powdered sugar
seasonal sprinkles
seasonal m & m's or reeses pieces

1.In large bowl, place cereal.  In small microwavable bowl melt vanilla chips, butter and peanut butter.  Pour over cereal and mix until coated.
2. Place 1/2 the cereal in a 1-gallon zip lock bag and add powdered sugar, seal bag and shake until coated. Spread on wax paper to to cool.
3. Meanwhile, stir sprinkles into remaining cereal and spread on wax paper to cool.
4.When cool mix cereal together and add in candy of choice. (for fall I used reeses pieces)

Enjoy!!

Halloween Stitchery Wall Hanging..

Happy Weekend Friends!
Just thought I would pop in and share a stitchery I finished last week.  Hope everyone is enjoying the fall weather, we have finally got a break from the heat and have the windows open this morning.  (That is a big deal for us here hehe)  I am busy stitching for our upcoming show in November and finishing up a few things I wanted to make for myself.

It has been a hard week here, my daughter lost a friend in a car accident on Wednesday.  He was only 16, it is so tough when a young life is taken.  I am doing my best to comfort her, she is doing good but any prayers for the family and her would of course be appreciated.
Thanks everyone~Have a wonderful day!

A couple Halloween Pillows...

Hi there~
I have a couple of Halloween pillows that I have been working on to share with you.
I have had a few emotional mom days lately so I thought I would come here to cry a little. On Thursday my middle son bought his first house, which is great news, only as a mom I am already dreading looking into his empty bedroom for the first time..we are a very close family of five and do alot together so this will be hard on me not having him under the same roof.  Any empty nesters out there....any advice or anything?
Ok, so on Friday my baby (which is my daughter) got her driving permit, not a big deal with the boys but for some reason with her I broke down again...maybe being the baby? I don't know..lol
Anyway, both great news, but the mommy in me just sees how fast they grow up, and how that part of my life is over.  Thanks for listening if you are still here, I need to work through this and get on to the next part of life. :)

Have a great day~Stacy

Pumpkin Pie Cake

Here is great recipe for all you pumpkin lovers out there...like me!!  The lady that hosted the show my sister in law and I are in this year made this cake at last years fall show and it was a great hit!  She was nice enough to share the recipe with me so I thought I would pass it along.
I made it this last weekend for some friends of ours we had over after we all went to Octoberfest..I know in September??  More on that later..maybe hehe It was kind of lame :)

Pumpkin Pie Cake

4 eggs
15 oz. can of pumpkin
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
12 oz can evaporated milk

1 spice cake mix (you can use butter pecan if you can't find spice cake)
2 sticks of unsalted butter
1 cup chopped pecans

Mix first 6 ingredients in order listed.  Pour into ungreased 13x 9 pan.  Sprinkle cake mix  over top then pour melted butter over the cake mix.  Sprinkle with nuts~I used pecans.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Enjoy!
I made homemade whip cream to top with when served

1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Whip together until holds peaks..so yummy!

We have a winner!

Hi there~ So sorry it is so late today, I had Internet problems all morning of course :)

I am so happy to say I have a winner for the Halloween Pillow Tucks....
I used Random.org and the winner is 31....

Kathy H said...
I think your little pillows are so cute. I especially like the witch, she doesn't look too scary. I enjoy decorating for Halloween but like the friendlier versions of pumpkins and monsters and witches. Thanks for the chance to win in your giveaway.
